Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected when you use Kent County Court Docket, how that information is handled, and when an outside service may receive it. Continued use of the website indicates acceptance of these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

Terms entered into a search tool are sent to the third-party company operating that tool. It processes the request and returns its results. Kent County Court Docket does not keep or log those terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

If you email us, the message may be retained so a response can be provided. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our systems may receive routine technical information when a page loads:

  • Your device's IP address.
  • Browser type and version.
  • Operating system and device category.
  • Pages viewed, visit duration, and timestamps.
  • The referring website, when available.

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies and analytics services help measure traffic, popular pages, and site performance. Browser controls can block cookies, although some features may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

  • Operate, secure, and improve the website.
  • Route a search to the selected partner service.
  • Understand aggregate use and diagnose technical faults.
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests.

No Court-Record Data on File

Kent County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of official dockets or personal case records. It publishes general directions to Craig Harrison's combined clerk office, Kent County courts, and re:SearchTX. Texas Government Code Chapter 552, including Section 552.0035, distinguishes judiciary information from ordinary Public Information Act treatment; court records remain governed by applicable court rules and law. Texas Rule of Judicial Administration 12 addresses access to covered judicial records. Neither rule makes this private site an official record custodian.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power search boxes on some pages. Information submitted there falls under that provider's privacy policy, retention practices, and sharing rules. Review those terms before running a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to the Kent County clerk, Texas courts, re:SearchTX, legal resources, or commercial search tools. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Advertising providers may also perform cross-site tracking on their own systems.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to:

  • Search providers that process a query you submit.
  • Analytics and advertising services used on the site.
  • Service providers that support site operation.
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand.

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect information collected by the site. No internet system can guarantee absolute security, and a breach can never be ruled out completely.

Users Under 18

The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor may be deleted.

Your Data Rights

Rights vary by residence and applicable privacy or consumer-protection law. You may be able to request access to stored information, correct inaccurate information, ask for deletion, or opt out of certain processing. Texas Government Code Chapter 552 and Rule 12 concern access to government or judicial records; they do not create a private-site visitor-data right or change the court-record distinction described above.

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. A new effective date will appear here when changes are posted.
